About
At the Schreiber Center for Pediatric Development, we help every child reach their fullest potential.
Our nationally recognized pediatric facility provides family-centered education and therapy for infants, children, and adolescents with disabilities, developmental delays, and acquired injuries. We strive to maximize each child's ability to function independently and thrive within their community.
Our Story
Founded in 1936 as the Society for Crippled Children and Adults, the Schreiber Center for Pediatric Development has a rich history of serving children with special needs.
Initially formed in response to the polio epidemic, we shifted our focus in the late 1980s to specialized pediatric therapy services. In 1994, we chose to disaffiliate from the Easter Seal Society to maintain local autonomy, and in 2018, we adopted our current name to better reflect the breadth of services we offer.
